This video is on a topic I’ve had requested a few times, glitter liner!!
Product quality varies from brand to brand with glitter liners, it can be a very hit and miss kind of product. I’ve found that buying a high end product, doesn’t really equate with more glitter in the liner as you would have thought. In face, I tend to find that the cheaper “drug store” type brands are the ones that seem to sport more sparkle for your buck.
The glitter liners that feature in this video tutorial are by NYX and I actually own the entire set. It can be kind of difficult to find these in Australia, some Groove stores stock them but usually in limited colours. I purchased the whole colour range in one go off eBay for a pretty good price.
Check out the colours they have available, so pretty!!
I am a big fan of layering different glitter in the one look for a multi-layered effect of colourful sparkle. For example, you say me layering “El Dorado” over “Gold” in the video above, but I also love layering “Hot Candy” over “Purple” too. Have a play around and tag me or post it on my Facebook wall if you create a cool glitter look of your own!!
Now, loose glitter!!
I purchased most of my collection off Coastal Scents, an online company based in the USA. Again, Groove also retails some good cheap loose glitters by brands such as LA Splash, NYX, etc. Make sure that you are buying cosmetic grade glitter, especially when you are applying is on your eye area. Craft glitters can have metals, plastics or chemicals involved in their production that aren’t safe for use on your skin so it is not “just glitter”.
To minimise fallout when applying your loose glitters, make sure you use a damp brush (only lick your brush if you are applying it on yourself).
Keep in mind that all the techniques shown in this video can also be used to add glitter your you entire eyelid or even your face!! The possibilities are only limited by your imagination =)
